From the Yangtze to the Lion City: Y-CLAP Joins the UN Global Compact Belt & Road Summit
On September 2–3, the Youth Climate Leadership Action Program (Y-CLAP) team was invited to Singapore for the second Global Enterprises High-Quality Co-building Belt & Road Summit, hosted by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Founder Lucia Liu, founding executive board member Mark Ma, program officer Yaya Lin, and first-cohort youth member Xiangji Zhou took part in the summit, themed “Connectivity, Co-building a Better World,” which brought together enterprises, academic institutions, and international organizations to explore sustainable development, the green transition, and global cooperation.
- › September 1 — Li Foundation visit: a dialogue on philanthropy and youth power with founder Lionel Li, exploring sports philanthropy, early-childhood development, public-interest leadership, and impact investing.
- › September 2 — UNGC closed-door dialogue on ASEAN zero-carbon park industry-finance cooperation at the Singapore Sustainability Academy, building connections across universities, industry, and multilateral financial institutions.
- › September 3 — Belt & Road Summit main forum, opened by UN Assistant Secretary-General Sanda Ojiambo and UN Deputy Secretary-General Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, among other leaders.
- › On-site launch of the SEE Foundation's “Green Going Global Industrial Synergy Initiative,” with several Y-CLAP members' organizations joining as co-launching institutions.
